Q. I’m new to social media. Is attending New Tools/ Public Good at SF-IM right for me?
A. Yes, SF-IM: New Tools/ Public Good is ideal for anyone interested the public possibilities of the emerging media technologies, and is suitable for a wide range of abilities, from beginner to advanced. Attendees of all levels and abilities will leave the SF-IM with a stronger sense of “how to use Web 2.0 and social media in their organization for public purposes.”
Q. What specifically will I learn in the “fundamentals” sessions?
A. The Aspiration team will facilitate sessions that include “Facebook and Twitter 101”, “Intro to blogging”, “Beginning and Intermediate WordPress”, “Listening Online with a Social Media Dashboard”, “Managing Online Channels with a Publishing Matrix”, and “How to Build a Good Nonprofit Web Site for Almost Nothing.”

Q. I’d like to present at SF-IM. Is it too late?
A. No, please contact Prof. Edward Lenert melenert (at) sfsu (dot) edu or call the Department of Media Studies office. We may be able to accommodate you as a presenter.
Q. Is this event free for USF faculty, staff, and students?
A. Yes, but you must register to attend. www.sf-im.eventbright.com. In the event of a sell-out, we may not be to accommodate all that wish to attend. All others need to pay the $30 registration in advance at www.sf-im.eventbright.com.
Q. When does registration end?
A. Regular registration ends Tuesday, March 1, 2011. Late registration is subject to increased cost and availability.
